Where should you start?

A mascot designed for your company, sporting team or promotion will help raise your company / team profile. The mascot can be based on your company logo or name and are ideal whenever children are involved.

At Props n Frocks we will either manufacture your own design or we will get our design department to sketch out a design for you. Our speciality are animals. If the mascot is to be used around children, our animal faces are always friendly and welcoming.

All of our mascots are machine washable. We do advise that the mascot is allowed to air dry and not tumble dried.

You need to ask yourself the following questions if you are thinking of having your own mascot made...

1. Is the costume likely to get dirty? If the costume will be used on a football field for example, we would not recommend you use a light coloured fabric. It may also be better to have feet that are not attached to the main body so that they can be washed more frequently. An additional pair of feet is advisable
2. Will the head need to be secure? We were recently asked to produce 2 costumes for a judo club. As these costumes were going to be used in a mock fight, we had to design the heads so that they would not come off. This is easy to do at the design stage and far harder to try and rectify once the costume has been made.
3. Who will be wearing the costume? We tend to make the costumes suitable for average sized adults. We can manufacture a mascot to fit an individual but we try and advise people not to do this. These mascots will last for many years (if looked after) and the person who may wear it this or next year may not be still involved with the company in years ahead.
4. When do you need the mascot? The design process can take a few weeks. When you are happy with the design that we have presented to you will we start to manufacture the costume. A finished mascot could take up to 8 weeks to be completed. At certain, more quiet times of the year, the mascot could be processed faster, but this can not be guaranteed.

Due to licensing laws, we are not able to re-produce Disney and major character mascots.

We were after a mascot costume for quite some time and managed to get ourselves involved with a few companies who promised the world at a very low price.
