In these days around the mid-summer solstice, if you can’t actually make it to Stonehenge, it’s a good time to be celebrating supernatural and strange happenings Legend has it that on June 26th 1284 events in Hamelin, Germany, culminated in the disappearance of a large number of children from the town. In the so-called ‘Pied Piper’ incident, a disgruntled (and strangely clothed) vermin-charmer took revenge upon the local authorities who refused to pay him for his services by enticing the town’s youngsters into, it is said, a nearby mountain cave. Similarly, in 1997 after fifty years, the US Air Force chose this time to produce some official explanations of the ‘Roswell Incident’ of June/July 1947 upon which, of course, many theories and beliefs about visits by extraterrestrials are based. Needless to say the official explanations were looked upon as further cover-ups, with many still looking for the Truth somewhere Out There. So today’s the day to do your own X-File X-Factor.

For all of your sci-fi fancy dress costumes. You could also broaden the theme out a bit by having a Myths & legends costume theme. You could wear Gods & Goddess costumes, fairy costumes and even Batman & Robin outfits and what about about Robin Hood? When you start thinking about it there is actually a large range of costumes to chose from.
