- In yesterday’s exciting episode we noted some possible solutions to the problem of themes requiring a ‘set’ of female costumes. Today we think outside the envelope and come up with a more off-the-wall proposal – the Reservoir Dwags. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Quinten Tarentino’s debut movie, Reservoir Dogs, about a group of gangsters, previously unknown to each other, whose heist goes wrong created a major impact, admittedly partly because of certain violent scenes. That need not concern us because one of the film’s gimmicks was that each gangster was ‘colour-coded’ – Mr Black, Mr Orange, Mr Pink, etc. and we thought ‘why not give the girls a go?’ Whether you want to ‘gangsterise’ the outfits with accessories is up to you, but here are a few of our colour coded costume suggestions – you can probably come up with a few of your own:
Miss White – Snow White, Mrs White (Cluedo); Miss Pink – Barbie, Miss Piggy or Penelope Pitstop; Miss Green – Fiona from Shrek or Poison Ivy from Batman; Miss Blue – Nytiri from Avatar, Smurfette or Mystique from X Men; Miss Red – Lady in Red, Devilina, Miss Scarlett (Cluedo) you get the general idea.
This costume theme also gives lots of potential for the firm favourite of Morphsuits.
