Fancy Dress Weapons

Most fancy dress costumes, will not come with accessories & it is your choice whether you decide to purchase 1 or 2 to fake swordscomplete your fancy dress outfit, or not. For those of you (yes, we know you are out there) who don’t like dressing up, just having a small prop to take at least shows you have made an effort.

Today, we are going to concentrate on fancy dress weapons

Guns
In recent years, the laws regarding toy guns have changed. This means that the guns need to look as unrealistic as possible and often are in odd colours such as blue!  Many customers complain about the colour of the guns, but I am afraid it is totally out of our hands. Older, cowboy style guns are not as affected. One of our most popular guns is the pirate pistol to complete a Jack Sparrow style costume

Bow & Arrow
Mainly used for Native American & Robin Hood Costumes

Axe
A must for any hangman style costume. Native American axes, spears & tomahawks are also available

Scythe
A must for a grim reaper style costume

Swords
We stock such a range of swords from Roman, Knight, Ninja to Rapier. Again, these swords are a cost effective way of completing your costume’s look, but please make sure that the event will allow these weapons in!

Knives
Ideal for Scream style costumes, Roman gladiators and Native American costumes

Bloody Weapons
A lot of weapons are also available covered in blood. Ideal to use at Halloween. For a simple Halloween costume just cover some old clothing in fake blood and carry a bloody weapon!

Trident
A must to complete your devil costumes

Catapult
Ideal for a Dennis The menace, or schoolboy costume

A couple of years ago around this time we were noting the 60th anniversary of The Archers radio programme. By a strange co-incidence (or a very tortuous link), apparently archers and archery are becoming more popular: It is said that this is thanks to the recent ‘Hunger Games’ and ‘Avengers Assemble’ films, which both feature individuals showing outstanding skills with the bow. Hence the spirit of Robin Hood, William Tell and great bowmen (and women) of the past lives on, and it is only a matter of time before some genius thinks a 3D Robin Hood remake would be a great idea. It’s just unfortunate that of all the weapons one could take as a prop to a party (in general we don’t recommend it, but with an archer costume it is the defining accessory), the bow & arrow ensemble is the most unwieldy (unless, of course, you are doing Cupid!).
