We are well used to fashion reinventing itself (or rather, trying to revive an old idea, albeit with a supposed new twist). Regular readers of these pieces will know of the constant problem with men and ‘tights’ – if it isn’t would-be Robin Hoods insisting on trousers instead of anything looking remotely leg-hugging, it’s those selecting medieval or Tudor outfits and getting worried about the ‘doublet and hose’ (tights) look. Regardless of this, in these days of men supposedly embracing their inner goddess, the bright thinking ones have decided that there might be a market for unisex tights. Already being nicknamed ‘Broseriey’ or ‘ Mantyhose’, we are not quite sure where they fit into the fashion picture – a man in shorts sporting an audacious pair of knees is enough of a sight already without having them encased in sheer lycra, but, as ever, we will keep an open mind.
