We thought that Dance would be a great fancy dress theme today.
It’s the National Day of Argentina today, and despite being one of the larger South American countries, for most people it is associated mostly with corned beef or Eva ‘Evita’ Peron. However we thought we would use the day as an excuse to suggest a Latino-style event: Quite apart from the fact that Latin-American music and its influence is regularly seen (heard) in the charts (and in adverts!), Latino dance, in its various styles, is becoming increasingly popular, not only as the basis of dance-shows such as ‘Strictly’, but also as a form of ‘dancercise’ – Salsa, Samba, Rumba, Zumba and the like. The dance-form most commonly associated with Argentina is, of course, the Tango. We thought that a pure Latino costume theme may be a bit difficult, so we have expanded it out to include all dance styles. So if the idea appeals, strut your stuff down to Props n Frocks, where we can show you some of our own passion for perfection in costuming.
