Doctor’s & Nurses is today’s fancy dress theme, and it immediately conjures up Carry On Doctor in my head (ooooh, I say!)
There are many ways you can approach a Doctors & Nurse costume theme, here are some of our ideas…
- Doc – one of the 7 dwarfs
- Dr. Evil – Villain from Austin Powers
- Dr. No – Villain from James Bond
- Doctor of Death ( right)
- Flying Doctor – add wings to a standard Doctor’s costume
- Dr. Dolittle – Wear a Victorian gentleman’s outfit
- Dr. Gloucester - Wear a Victorian’s man’s costume and carry an umbrella
- Doctor Jekyll (with Mr Hyde, of course!)
- Dr. Watson – Sherlock Holmes assistant
- Doctor Henry ‘Indiana’ Jones jnr & snr
- Dr. Frank n Furter
- Doctor Hannibal Lector
- Dr. Carlisle Cullen – Twilight, a great chance to become a vampire
- Doctor Henry Frankenstein
- Dr. Emmett Brown – Back To The Future – a nutty Professor style of costume
- Nursie – from Blackadder – wear a Tudor style costume
- Florence Nightingale
- 1940s Nurse
- Angel – often what nurses are called
- Nurse of Death
- Night Nurse, wear a nurse costume with stars & moons on it

September 28th is a day for celebration of Doctors and Nurses, assuming people still have those sorts of parties. For one thing, in 1864 on this day Elizabeth Garrett Anderson became the first female doctor in Britain and co-incidentally on this date in 1979, the first episode of the MASH TV series, set in a medical unit during the Korean War, was premiered. For those already in the medical profession this can be an easy and inexpensive party idea, although taking your work home with you might not be ideal. For those who would like a bit more variety, why not broaden it out to a uniforms, professions or emergency services theme? After all, if your career is different to the one you had originally envisioned, perhaps we can help you make your dreams come true (even if it is just for the length of a party).Doctor’s & Nurses
