Carrying on from yesterday’s leprechaun theme, we thought to take a look at ideas for fantasy costumes and parties. These can be great fun as your choice of costume is left to your
imagination. Why have we picked a fantasy fancy dress theme today? Well, ten days ago we mentioned about Star Wars day (May 4th) and today is the birthday of its creator George Lucas (born 1944), who is possibly one of the greatest movie makers of all time, having been responsible not only for the Star Wars films, but also the Indiana Jones series.
A fantasy theme can take on many guises, space is just one of them (our Space themed blog has loads of fantasy outfit ideas), adventure being another, we have also published a blog on ‘My Favourite Fantasy’ costume ideas for even more costume inspiration.
The fourth Indiana Jones film Indiana Jones and the Legend of the Crystal Skull, also starred Cate Blanchett who was also born on this day (in 1969). One of her other roles was as Galadriel in Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings, another fantasy figure. Other types of fantasy suggestions also originate from books, either storybook, such as Alice and her Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, where she meets some fantastic characters, such as the Mad Hatter and White Rabbit, or comic books, where Superman, Batman, Fantastic Four and other superheroes abound.
If you are lacking in creativity or inspiration, at Props n Frocks we have a fantastic selection of off the peg fantasy hire costumes, plus a great collection of accessories and add-ons to help you create a unique look.
