We had to have a French Fancy Dress theme for today as it is Bastille Day, the National Day of France upon
which our Gallic neighbours celebrate becoming a republic. Obviously a French theme is on the cartes – sorry, cards (so that’s Moulin Rouge or Breton stripe jumpers with berets then, with the odd Napoleon or Marie Antoinette thrown in). Alternatively you can broaden the theme to Red White and Blue (just as you might have done for American Independence Day (July 4th)). As a third possibility, perhaps you can split the difference in honour of the fact that the famous Tour de France cycle race completes its mammoth journey around the country with a ‘’Tour’ fancy-dress cycle or pram-based event (although the success of such a venture might depend upon the weather and ‘track conditions’). Obviously mid-week may not be the best time to attempt such an enterprise, but it could work well for extra entertainment at a weekend fete or open day.
So let’s see what French Costume Ideas, we can come up with for you…
