Today’s fancy dress theme is ‘Let Me Entertain You’. This is a huge theme and gives you so much costume potential.

Forumla 1 Racing Driver

You have so many options open to you, just look at whatever you class as ‘entertainment’ and for each individual that will be completely different. For example, the image shows a racing driver, but if you find formula 1 boring, you wouldn’t choose this costume option – unless you were desperate!.

Take your costume inspiration from:

• Theatre Shows – use a Freddie Mercury costume for ‘We’ll Rock You!’
• Television – huge subject how about the Scooby Doo gang or ‘Only fools & Horses’ – we stock a Del Boy & Rodney Mask
• Films – another huge section – Freddie Kruegar, Wizard of Oz, Twilight Saga – we stock a great range of werewolf and vampire costumes and accessories,
• Pop / rock stars – Michael Jackson costumes, Abba outfits, Amy Whinehouse etc/ etc.
• Sporting Events – football, Rugby, showjumping etc…

It was on this day in 1901 that Guglielmo Marconi first demonstrated the principle of Radio, receiving a signal in Newfoundland from a transmission made in Cornwall. Whilst neither of these locations was able to capitalise on this early success in the field of broadcasting media, luckily the whole radio broadcasting thing caught on. Despite major advances and changes in other areas of music reproduction, Radio continues to hold its own in the face of the competition. Building a theme celebration around radio may seem a little limiting (although this didn’t stop a radio show called ‘Educating Archie’ featuring a ventriloquist, becoming a success) but whilst Radio is a major media in its own right, it has a role in many other entertainments – think radio mikes and wi-fi – so why not have a ‘Let Me Entertain You’ event ?
