Although not associated with the fun atmosphere of a fancy dress party, today and this coming Sunday we
remember those who have fought and died in various conflicts from the First World War onwards. Since the ending of the First War in 1918, the poppy has come to symbolise peace, although it was not until a few years later, in 1922, that the Royal British Legion adopted the flower and held its first Poppy Day to help those involved in the War.
For most weekends during the year we have at least one event going on that is something to do with the war years. Most of these are based around celebrating a birthday (some people choose to have parties every year, whilst others only push the boat out for landmark occasions), commemorating an anniversary or reunions with old colleagues and friends. Whatever the reason, some events will need costumes and accessories, whilst others will not. With a great choice of uniform costumes and accessories to choose from here at Props & Frocks, why not spend some time browsing through our range, either online or in-store?
