Comic Relief is a great time to dress up in a fancy dress costume or silly accessory.

With just five days to go until you need to Do Something Funny for Money have you got everything you need?  Here at Props N Frocks we often find that people leave it until the last minute before finalising their plans for this bi-annual charity event (Sports Relief being next year, just in time for the Olympics!).

Red Nose Day can be very popular, particularly with local schools and we often receive requests for funny costumes (not necessarily clowns – who some people think are too scary) and odd accessories such as sillly hats, wacky fancy dress wigs and weird shoes.  Not to mention the requests for hair colours. Some years ago, and often talked about in costuming circles, was Comic Relief’s red hair disaster year. This is the year when virtually every school in the country seemed to want red hairspray colour, so much so, that not only did many retailers sell out, but so did the wholesalers. Those who’d bought in extra stocks certainly did well.

So, please do not leave it until the last minute to order your goods, we always try and keep large stocks. Props n Frocks is good but even we are not able to produce miracles.

For trivia fans we also celebrate two actors’ birthdays today, Sir Michael Caine (born 1933) and Billy Crystal (He of the film ‘When Harry Met Sally’ – born 1948).
