Pop Stars or Movies Fancy Dress Theme

Continuing along our Famous People Fancy Dress theme from yesterday’s blog, today we concentrate on Cher.

Today, 65 years ago singer and actress Cher was born as Cherilyn Sarkisian in El Centro, California. During the 1960s she became a pop star and celebrity as part of the duo Sonny and Cher. They even had their own TV series. Over the past five decades, she has been well known for her fashion statements. Although costumes may have varied (along with her hair colour/wigs) long hair (straight or curly) and black eye make-up have become her trademark look. If you are going to a Pop Stars or even a Movies party then Cher is a great character to go for. Some of her outfits may be somewhat risqué, particularly the outfit worn for the Oscars ceremony back in 1986, but if you have the figure to carry it off, then go for it. Today in honour of Simon Cowell’s 51st birthday we thought an Xtra Special theme was called for. Naturally he is noted for his role in the X-Factor and as he shares his birthday

Beatles Style Fancy Dress Costume

with the actress & singer June Allyson (born 1917, died July 2006) and the singer Alesha Dixon, (born in 1978) we just had to advocate a Karaoke X-Factor or ‘Stars in their Eyes’ tribute night.
