Following on from our ‘ladies night’ fancy dress theme earlier in the week, today it’s the mens turn!
Around the world (or at least in over a dozen major countries, including the UK) today, November 19th, is International Men’s Day. A comparatively new celebration – it was started in 1999 – the day is supposed to redress the balance in respect of matters of male health, gender discrimination and achievements. How Men are actually supposed to celebrate the day is unclear (although being a Friday, they can doubtless find a way) but we thought we’d offer the Theme ‘My Hero’ as a possibility.
‘My Hero’ could mean many things, from an actual superhero costume to an actual person from a famous film actor, such as Tom Cruise as Maverick in Top Gun, or a real life hero. A real life hero could be a politican, or one of our fantastic emergency services. When you start to think about it, the choices of costumes are endless.
You could always use our suggestion for ‘ladies night’ which was for the men to dress and the women and the ladies to dress and the men and combine both ladies and men at the same time!
