For those of you who have been awaiting the return of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as the Men in Black, the third in the series is scheduled for general release this Friday. Men in Black 3, sees Will Smith going back in time to 1969 and meeting up with a much younger Agent K. American and British fashion of this period can be quite different, but there are some characters whose image is not necessarily about the clothes, but perhaps the hairstyle. We were mentioning earlier this week about some of the characters in Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy and one of the ‘regulars’ featured is legendary artist ‘Andy Warhol’, who also happens to ‘appear’ in MIB3. Andy Warhol was a leading pop art exponent responsible for such iconic sixties images as the Campbell’s Soup Can, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn (Breakfast at Tiffany’s). Fancy Dress costumes for these characters are available, as well as the distinctive white-blonde Andy Warhol wig.
Moving back and forwards in time has become a common occurrence, both in films and on the TV screen. The 1950s, 1960s and 1970s are popular periods to ‘visit’, notably if you are Austin Powers (Warhol turned up in his film too) or Marty McFly in ‘Back to the Future’, but Bill & Ted (featuring a young Keanu Reeves) had an Excellent Adventure with a number of historical characters – Napoleon, Joan of Arc and Abraham Lincoln to name but three – from different time periods, You can have your own adventure with a selection of eras from our extensive hire stock here at Props & Frocks.
