Goodwood Revival Fancy Dress Costumes

The Goodwood Revival starts this Friday, and coincidently, it’s also Stirling Moss’ 81st birthday. Despite mixed opinions about its recent ‘sister’ event, Goodwood Vintage, held last month, the Revival is a well-established and much-loved event where almost all the attendees take the retro dress-code seriously and the result is a glorious display of fashions and mid-twentieth-century outfits and some excellent car racing as well.

We find the 40s and 50s as being the most popular costume choices, with American Gi Costumes for men and women topping our costume list of top sellers, with 1950s costumes not far behind. It always helps if the weather does it’s bit, but that’s in the lap of the gods! So the theme for today is retro-fads and fashions.

Costumes For Goodwood

Are you one of the lucky people going to Goodwood Revival 2010? If yes, then you should really dress up in 40s, 50s or 60s costume to get into the spirit of the fantastic weekend. When I went to Goodwood, I dressed up in a ladies 1950s costume complete with 50s glasses and it was fabulous. Other people in my group dressed up in American 1940s GI costumes. These have been flying out both online and in our fancy dress shop. As you can purchase a male and femal costume, it makes for a great 1940s couples fancy dress idea.

During the weekend we also saw a great range of 60s costumes including Mary Quant style mod dresses, Austin Powers costumes and hippy costumes.

If you have never been, it is well worth a visit, although you probably will not get a ticket for this year’s event, but book early for next year. If you are going, why not drop us a line to let us know what type of costume you wore and what other fancy dress costumes you saw there. You are going to have a great time, let’s just hope that the weather is kind to all at The Goodwood Revival 2010.
