What most parents and school teachers do not realise is that childrens fancy dress is governed by very strict regulations. Every costume sold needs to meet the current legislation as laid down by the European Union.
The actual legislation is very complicated and would take pages and pages to go into properly. The costumes go through many tests like fire retardancy. All of our childrens costumes have passed the current EU legislation and will have a label that states CE inside.
However, due to the rules regarding childrens fancy dress, the range of costumes is not as vast as the adult range.
Sizing
Kids come in all shapes and sizes. We are happy to measure a specific costume for you so that you are able to check that it will fit your child.
Book Day / Week
Many schools back the National Or International Book Weeks. Children are encouraged to dress up as a character from their favourite book. We stock popular characters such as:

The UK School curriculum covers many historical eras.
Tudor
The National Curriculum suggests that children should study the Tudor Period.
'During key stage 2, in their study of British history, pupils should be taught about Britain and the wider world in Tudor times which includes a study of some of the significant events and individuals, including Tudor monarchs, who shaped this period and of the everyday lives of men, women and children from different sections of society.
During key stage 3, pupils should study Britain between 1500 and 1750 including the major political, religious and social changes affecting people throughout the British Isles.

Childrens Fancy Dress Wigs
Until recently you were not able to purchase fancy dress wigs for children. However, one firm is now manufacturing childrens wigs to the CE standard.
