Dressing up is fun & you can raise extra money by wearing a fancy dress for charity
events, which is why so much fundraising involves wearing a fancy dress costume. Now some charities take this a little further than others…
As we stand on the eve of several weeks’ display of stamina and athletic achievement, it is time to give an early call to a future event close to our hearts which we were involved in last year, during our makeover with Alex Polizzi. The Great Gorilla Run of 2012 (the image shows Rhys & Ellis at last year’s run for The Fixer) is being held on Saturday 22nd September in London. The basic idea is that you tackle a 7km course whilst dressed as a gorilla! Some people are not content with just the basic gorilla outfit (which is enough of a challenge) but enhance it by having their gorilla wearing costume (although there are prizes at stake here). It is not a race as such, because fundraising is the main object of the exercise but there is much fun to be had. It is also an opportunity to contribute to one of the more unusual sporting events to be held in London (although the Beach Volley-Ball at Horse Guards Parade may run it close this year). Information on the run can be found at greatgorillarun.org or on 0207 916 4974, and of course here at Props & Frocks we will be pleased to help kit you out.
