New Year’s Eve Fancy Dress Costumes

Have you got all your Christmas shopping done? Are all the presents wrapped? Are you going to a fancy dress party for New Year?

Why not beat the New Year rush and book your costume now? We are open tonight until 8pm. If you want to hire a costume, please bring some proof of your address with you. We will also let you take your hire costumes today, to be returned on the 3rd January, so please make sure you have your deposit as well to save you having to come back. The shop will be so busy next week, you will really want to avoid it if you can!

We also understand that December is a month where money can get tight, so why not checkout our special offers and bag yourself a cheap fancy dress costume?

Alternatively, you might still be chasing around trying to fit everything in, especially since the kids have now been off school for almost a week and are possibly climbing the walls with excitement, about Father Christmas’ visit tomorrow. If you still need a costume for tomorrow or sometime over the Christmas period, don’t’ forget we will not be open during the bank holidays, so it’s best to get in today or tomorrow. We will be closing tomorrow, Christmas Eve at 4pm.

There are some days when not everything quite goes to plan – chances are that whilst you might have big plans for this long weekend, not all of them may quite work as expected due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. In recognition of this concept the Americans have designated this date, the 28^th, as International Gone to Pot Day. Why? Because they reckon that, on a month-long project, it’s at about this time that you either a) realise the deadline’s creeping up and you’d better do something about it (like start the work?) or b) your carefully planned schedule is disrupted due to factors not all of your making and, with days to go, panic starts to set in. From the costuming point of view, we find similar principles tend to apply, but only because some customers tend to leave things to the last minute and seem disappointed if their options have become limited. No matter! Here at Props n Frocks we are dedicated to dealing with last-minute dramas – doing the impossible sometimes takes a little longer.

quite a busy day on the Internet – everything from people trying out some new piece of IT kit which they have had as a present (and if we are making a first appearance on your hand-held or smart phone, welcome to the world of Props n Frocks) through to those preparing for the sales which technically start tomorrow but which are ‘previewed’ today. Anyway, now you are here what can we do to amuse you? As today is one of the few days we are not open, we can’t help on the costuming front at our shop, but of course you can prepare for forthcoming festive events by looking around this site. For those new to us, the idea of these blogs is to give you ideas for something to celebrate and ‘hang’ a costume event on. Today’s event is pretty obvious but 25^th December is also the 21^st birthday of the means by which we’re coming to you – the World Wide Web (The system from which it was evolved was first tested on Christmas Day 1990). Can you believe that that was only 20 years ago, how did we maange before the www revolution? So there are causes to celebrate, both ancient and modern!
